Regensburg is located in the heart of Bavaria, at the northernmost point of the river Danube and close to the Bavarian Forest. It lies directly on the A3 Autobahn Cologne/Benelux – Passau/Austria. The A93 Autobahn connects Regensburg to Munich. The closest airports are at Nuremberg (110 km) and Munich (120 km), which is the second largest airport in Germany. Regional trains go to Munich (journey time approx. 1:30 hours) and Nuremberg (1 hour) every hour. There are direct intercity trains to Vienna, Budapest, Frankfurt, and other cities.

ECIS will take place at the University of Regensburg just outside the city centre. Hotels are in the city centre, but there are frequent buses to and from the University. You will get detailed information on how to reach the conference site before you arrive in Regensburg.
